The Giving Tree Review
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, is a book that teaches about giving. In the book, in order to make a small boy happy, a tree gives all it has to the boy throughout all the stages of his life. I would use this book In my classroom when I'm teaching my students about giving and the importance of being grateful. A good activity to do with this book would be to have students write about a time they gave something to somebody or to write about the things that they are grateful for. (Book Reading level: AR 2.6)
